Amethyst

Its color is as unique as it is seductive, though in fact this gemstone of all gemstones is said to protect its wearer against seduction. For many thousands of years, the most striking representative of the quartz family has been a jewel coveted by princes. The amethyst is extravagance in violet, but it can display a range of shades including deep purple, light lilac, lavender and mauve.

Amethyst is the official birthstone for February and is suggested as a gemstone to give on the 4th, 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
